Hired for my ear and musicianship for the last few decades I have been the, "Go-To Guy" and, “Hired Gun” filling in for bands of numerous genres all over the West Coast. I have my own equipment including various types of drums, microphones, stands, and preamps dialed into my needs and liking, all with the quickest set up and tear down imaginable which makes me a self sufficient asset on stage. I work with a 5-8 Piece drum kit (6'x 6' foot print), Double (or single) Kick Pedal, and plenty of cymbals to have a rotation and keep things fresh. Also, I don't mind slimming the kit down to a the bare essentials if that is what is desired (4'x 4.5' footprint). Or even just come with a snare drum (which I can make sound like many drums). I can read drum charts, lead charts, scores, and can adapt and improvise to any style or odd time signature. I am here for your needs. I am the, "groove while being in the pocket with consistency” type of drummer, but can be the out front solo drummer as well, I am very versatile.
My bass playing style compliments any vocalist, I aim to serve the song and keep the groove going. My bass rig can go from plugging directly into an amp, or even a PA, or studio preamp, to using a dozen or more effects pedals on my board, and everything in between. I am a big fan of sub melodies and pocket groove riffs, but I will bang on a single note indefinitely if it compliments the other instruments within the group. All while locked into the drum groove.
I also sing background vocals in a wide range but mostly baritone and tenor, and I have “internal vocals effects” from years as a voice over artist I have learned to mimic many sounds!
I am a relaxed, calm person that is easy to get along with and very easy to work with as a professional at all times. Be it a suit and tie with a derby, or jeans and t-shirt with the hair down -- I will show up however is requested.
